Kolomyia is a pleasant small town on the Prut river.

It was founded in the 13th century.

First Kolomyia was an important station on the
salt-trade routes between Galicia and the Black Sea.

The town was often ruined by Tatars.

Kolomyia is a traditional centre of the Hutzuls,
ethnic Ukrainians from the Carpathian Mountains.

The centre of the town, with its market-place, shops
and cafes lies around the Renaissance Square.

The highlight of the town is the Museum of Hutzul
Folk Art.

Opened in 1935, the museum has more than 20
exhibition halls, carved wooden tools, boxes and furniture, traditional
folk-embroidered clothes and ceramic tableware are exhibited.

Оно было основано в 13 веке.

Сначала Коломыя была важной станцией на соляных
путях между Галичиной и Черным морем.

Город часто разрушали татары.

Коломыя — традиционный центр гуцулов, этнических украинцев
с Карпат.

Местный рынок, магазины и кафе расположены в центре
города вокруг площади Возрождения.

Основным местом Коломые считается Музей гуцульской
народного творчества.

Открытый в 1935 году, музей имеет более 20 выставочных
залов, в которых экспонируются резные деревянные инструменты, сундуки и мебель,
традиционный народный вышитую одежду и керамическую посуду.
